I am for one. My Japanese is... big zero...
Ok, I got something like watashi and anata but that's about it lol
I had watched Takarazuka with no problem and tend to like the second show better.
The second show, I means, the one that comes with another show, like
Jazzy Fairies / Revue of Dreams or
Higher Than the Sky of Paris / Fancy Dance (what's it called in English? lol my English is near zero either -"-) since the second shows are mostly just dance and sing so my big zero Japanese had never been a problem.
However, I talked to a friend the other day about a recent show I watched,
Love Blooms Out on the Murasakino, and she said she has seen that too. Then she explained to me scene by scene what they were saying in the show.... and my heart sank... realized that I actually missed all the good bits! T_T
It happened again when I watched
Floating Bridge of Dreams. I usually prepare myself before watching shows by reading summary first. I finished it half way, started to fall asleep but for the sake of there's Sena Jun in there I tried to stay awake lol
Then I found there's a translated script by Jen
here (Thank you so much!), so I stoped and read the script... just to found out I had missed everything and had to start watching again from the beginning. After knowing what they said in the show I now really like it and give it 9 out of 10 (just so you know, I never give anything 10/10 lol).
The problem is I'm now afraid of watching Takarazuka T_T
When I'm watching the show I will then thinking '
Have I just missed something?' '
Was that a good bit they just said?' T_T
Takarazuka should have put subtitle in their DVD already! English subtitle is just fine. It shouldn't make them much trouble, should it? and they can reach more audiences. Don't they know there're a lot of Takarazuka fans out there?
Put subtitle in now!!!!
*shaking their executives*
I would never hope they would make biligual magazines even though it's my untimate dream T_T
I am reluctant to by their magazines because I know I would just be lost in those text that I don't understand.
Anyway, just curious, is there anyone like me? don't know Japanese but a big fan of Takarazuka?
How do you cope with knowing nothing thay say in the show?
I've been thinking about learning Japanese but how long would it take to be good enough to watch the show?
*back to making my own subtitle of Floating Bridge of Dreams from Jen's script*
